PURPOSE:To make improvements in a sliding characteristic and durability, by forming an undercoat layer on the surface of an aluminum alloy-make base metal of a side housing, and also forming a grade coating layer, which turns to metallic quality in proportion as approaching to the surface, on this undercoat layer. CONSTITUTION:At the time of forming a side housing 1 for example, after applying heat treatment equivalent to JIS-T6, to an aluminum alloy equivalent to JIS-AC4A, this treated one is set down to a base metal, and an undercoat layer 2 of NiCr-Al, by way of example, is formed on the surface of this base metal. And, a grade coating layer 3, composing Al2O3 (alumina) and FeCr alloys by means of plasma irradiation, the lowermost layer is alumina as a main component, is formed on this undercoat layer 2 so as to cause this FeCr allot to become the main component. With this constitution, this layer 3 is made into metal quality the more outer surface the larger in binding power, whereby a sliding characteristic is enhanced and, what is more, durability is improved.
