PURPOSE:To easily cope even with the change of an available input/output device at every input/output function, by only changing a correspondence table, by constituting the titled system so that an input/output device control processing refers to the correspondence table concerned and executes a conversion to a physical device number from a job number, and requests an input and an output by a file format corresponding to the physical device number to an I/O driver. CONSTITUTION:An input/output function 1, an input/output device control processing 2, an I/O driver (a magnetic disk I/O driver 4, a magnetic tape I/O driver 5, and other I/O driver 6), and a correspondence table 20 are provided in a main memory, and the input/output function 1 executes an input/output request 11 having a job number 12 and input/output processing classification 13 as parameters, to the input/output device control processing 2. Subsequently, the input/output device control processing 2 devices a physical device number 21 from the correspondence table 20 by the job number 12 in the parameters, decides a device classification from the physical device number 21, and requests necessary I/O processing requests 14, 15 and 16 to each I/O driver 4, 5 and 6, based on the input/output processing classification 13 at every device classification.
