PURPOSE:To increase the disk changing speed with assured actuation of an automatic disk changing device by using a pocket control mechanism to control the opening part of a pocket member so that it is positioned at a place where a disk is loaded to and unloaded from a tray as well as a place where the disk is loaded to and unloaded from outside, respectively. CONSTITUTION:A disk 101 is selected out of a tray 100 and loaded into a pocket member of a pocket mechanism 500 via loading mechanisms 300 and 400. Then the disk 101 is sent to a reproduction mechanism 580 and reproduced there, and the disk with which the reproduction is through is stored to a tray 100. A pocket control mechanism 550 controls a loading inlet 301 where the disk is shifted to the mechanism 500 from the tray 100, an unloading path 701 which shifts the disk to the tray, a loading path 801 which shifts the disk between the outside and the mechanism 500 and an unloading path 802, respectively. Thus the positioning control is given to the opening part of the pocket member. In such a way, a desired disk 101 can be shifted assuredly to its prescribed position. This increases the disk changing speed with assured actuation.
