1. An orthopaedic surgical instrument assembly, comprising:
a cutting block comprising:
a base plate, an intramedullary orthopaedic surgical instrument configured to be inserted into a medullary canal of a patient's femur, and an adaptor positioned in a slot defined in the base plate, the adaptor including (i) a mounting bracket engaged with the base plate, (ii) a first adaptor body coupled to and extending from the mounting bracket, and (iii) a second adaptor body configured to extend into the medullary canal and pivotally coupled to the first adaptor body, the second adaptor body including a fastener coupled to the intramedullary orthopaedic surgical instrument, wherein (i) the first adaptor body defines a first axis, (ii) the intramedullary orthopaedic surgical instrument includes an elongated body that defines a second axis extending parallel to the first axis, and (iii) when the second adaptor body is pivoted relative to the first adaptor body, the elongated body is pivoted about the first axis, and wherein the intramedullary orthopaedic surgical instrument further comprises (a) a stem trial including the elongated body and an externally-threaded end, and (b) a stem stabilizer including a second elongated body, the second elongated body having (i) an internally-threaded first end engaged with the externally-threaded end of the stem trial and (ii) an internally-threaded second end positioned opposite the first end, the second end being engaged with a threaded shaft of the fastener of the adaptor. |
