Hydra-connector

A hydraulic connector for a wellhead hub is provided that includes a piston and a bottom portion configured to move in an axial direction via hydraulic pressure applied to one or more hydraulic ports in the connector. The movement of the piston and the bottom portion moves a ring and a segment of the connector in a radial direction to engage recesses in the wellhead hub. The connector may be unlocked by applying hydraulic pressure to a hydraulic port of the connector. A system and method of operating the connector are also provided.

a connector, comprising:
a body;a first fastener coupled to the body, wherein the first fastener is configured to move radially relative to an axis of the body with a first radial range of movement;a second fastener coupled to the body, wherein the second fastener is configured to move radially relative to the axis of the body with a second radial range of movement, wherein the first fastener is configured to fasten with a wellhead component in a first radial inward direction toward the axis and unfasten from the wellhead component in an opposite second radial outward direction away from the axis, and the second fastener is configured to fasten with the wellhead component in the first radial inward direction toward the axis and unfasten from the wellhead component in the opposite second radial outward direction away from the axis; andone or more pistons responsive to a fluid pressure to drive the first fastener along the first radial range of movement and to drive the second fastener along the second radial range of movement independent from the first fastener.
