Apparatus and method for managing device operation using near field communication

A device may include a memory for storing a set of instructions associated with at least one of an orientation and a position of the device. The device may also include a near field communication (NFC) transceiver for pairing the device with a second device. A processor in the device determines that the device is paired with the second device via the NFC transceiver; determines at least one of the orientation and the position of the device; and executes the set of instructions associated with at least one of the determined orientation and position of the device.

a memory operating to store a set of instructions to modify an operational parameter of the device associated with an orientation and a position of the device with respect to an orientation and a position of a second device; a transceiver operating to pair the device with the second device; a processor operating to:
determine that the device is paired with the second device via the transceiver;determine the orientation and the position of the device with respect to the orientation and the position of the second device;access the set of instructions stored in the memory; andexecute the set of instructions to modify the operational parameter of the device associated with the determined orientation and position of the device with respect to the orientation and the position of the second device,
wherein the operational parameter comprises a selection of a payment account for a payment operation among a plurality of payment accounts associated with the device.
