Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method comprising authenticating, by a server comprising a processor, a communication device to a first communication network, in accordance with authentication information stored in a first repository of the first communication network. The method also comprises determining, by the server, that a second communication network is accessible to the communication device. The method further comprises providing, by the server, the authentication information to a second repository of the second communication network in accordance with the determining, wherein the providing is performed independently of a request from the second communication network. Other embodiments are disclosed. |

1. A device comprising:
a processing system including a processor; and a memory storing executable instructions that, when executed by the processing system, perform operations comprising: responsive to a determination that a mobile communication device has been powered on, causing the mobile communication device to send an authentication request to a first communication network; and responsive to detecting that the mobile communication device either has moved into a region covered by a second communication network or will be moving into the region covered by the second communication network:
updating a data repository with information regarding accessibility of the second communication network to the mobile communication device;signaling the mobile communication device that the second communication network is accessible to the mobile communication device; andpopulating the data repository with subscriber credentials to facilitate access by the mobile communication device to the second communication network. |
