An absorbent article having improved handling of body exudates. The absorbent article can minimize the amount of body exudates in contact with a wearer's skin and can minimize the incidence of leakage of body exudates from the absorbent article.

1. A fluid-entangled laminate web comprising:
a first layer comprising a first plurality of fibers and having a first surface and an opposed second surface; a second layer comprising a second plurality of fibers and having an inner surface and an opposed outer surface, wherein portions of the second surface of the first layer are in contact with the inner surface of the second layer, wherein at least a portion of the first plurality of fibers or the second plurality of fibers are fluid-entangled with at least a portion of the other of the first plurality of fibers or the second plurality of fibers; a plurality of hollow-projections formed from at least a portion of the second plurality of fibers, the plurality of hollow projections extending from the outer surface of the second layer in a direction away from the first layer; and a plurality of apertures within the second layer.
