A voltage generator, comprising: an oscillator having an output; a charge pump having an input and an output, the input of the charge pump being coupled to the output of the oscillator; and a smoothing capacitor coupled to the output of the charge pump; wherein the voltage generator is configured to supply a voltage to a circuit via the smoothing capacitor and the oscillator is configured to operate at a first frequency that is higher than a second frequency during a transition period of the circuit; and wherein an enable signal is generated based on control signals that determine which signal path in a switch is enabled, and the enable signal is employed to cause the oscillator to operate at the first frequency.
