providing a first mixture comprising at least one polyester, and at least one solid acid catalyst; and contacting the first mixture with carbon dioxide under conditions sufficient to hydrolyze the at least one polyester to form a second mixture comprising at least one dicarboxylic acid and at least one diol. |
