Static contact rectifiers, arrangements of.-A high-tension rectifier installation comprises a bank of rectifier elements b of the copper oxide type arranged in zig-zag formation, cooling being effected by air, oil, or other fluid. The elements are mounted on members f secured to vertical supports in a readily detachable manner to facilitate dismantling. Full wave rectification is effected by connecting four banks of elements in bridge formation as indicated in Fig. 4, each pair of blanks that are connected to the same A.C. terminal (i.e. x, y in the one case and v, w in the other case) being disposed in a common oil-filled casing as shown in Fig. 3. Resistances i or condensers h or both are connected between the rows of elements as shown in Fig. 1 in order ta maintain equal distribution of voltage throughout the series of elements.</p> |
