Pivoting adjustments.- A pivoted mounting for mirrors and other articles comprises an attachment plate 2 with a housing 1 for friction - producing means, said means comprising a coiled spring 21 disposed between a flange 5 of the housing and a washer 6 non-rotatably secured by a pin 8-to the other attachment member 12 which, as shown, is engaged by a bracket plate 15 secured to the post of the mirror. The pin 8 is of U-shape and engages holes in the plates 12, 6. A washer 22 may be provided between the spring 21 and washer 6. The bracket member 12 has side arms in which slidably engage flanges which project from the plate 15, until the bentover part 20 rests on the top of the plate 12, as shown.
