PURPOSE:To realize an optical recording medium having a high recording density by devising arrangement of mask patterns (pits) formed along data tracks and a driving device which produces or uses such optical recording medium. CONSTITUTION:This optical information recording medium is alternately provided with mark patterns 3a, 3b in positions deviated to one side or the other side from the center of the data tracks 2. The driving device is provided with a spot wobble means 22 which deviates a light spot periodically from the center of the data tracks and a signal source 21 for turning the light spot on and off in synchronization with the oscillation period of the light spot in a light projecting optical system 14. The signal reproducing system of the device is provided with a reproducing optical system 15 having two photodetectors respectively separately detecting the respective mark patterns and a signal reproducing circuit 30 for alternately rearranging the signals obtd. from the respective photodetectors. |
