328,682. Griffin, P. W. Feb. 4, 1929. Pulverulent-fuel and spray burners. - A pulverized coal or oil burner is mounted so as to be movable continuously relatively to the secondary air supply. Fig. 2 shows a burner 13 which is mounted on trunnions 16 in a secondary air supply casing 14 and has crank arms 18 by which it is continuously rocked by a reciprocating rod 20. The fuel and primary air are supplied to the burner through a pipe 21 and cause some of the secondary air to enter the burner 13 bv injector action. The secondary air may be preheated. Fig. 3 shows another form of burner in which the burner 13 is mounted in the casing 14 on a ball-and-socket joint 25 and the fuel passes from the pipe 21 to the burner through a cranked pipe 26 which is continuously rotated in bearings 27 by worm-gearing 28, 29. A tube 30 surrounded by a helix 31 may be arranged in the burner. |
