A method of treating vasodilatory shock in a subject, the method comprising administering a sub-constricting amount of a myosin light chain phosphatase inhibitor to the subject and administering a vasoconstrictor that a blood vessel in the subject has lost sensitivity to, thereby restoring the sensitivity of the blood vessel to the vasoconstrictor.
