1. An armrest configured for arrangement between two seats, the armrest comprising:
a first support portion configured for an arm of a first person; and a second support portion configured for an arm of a second person, wherein the first support portion comprises a first lid and a second lid that are pivotally movable about at least one pivot axis, both the first lid and the second lid including a first arm support surface that together form the first support portion at a first height level and a second arm support surface, wherein pivoting the first lid and second lid causes the second arm support surfaces to form the first support portion at a second height level, and wherein the second support portion is at the second height level.
