1. A method for authenticating a peripheral device, comprising:
detecting, at a host device, a peripheral device connected to a media interface of the host device, wherein the media interface includes a media channel and a non-media channel; authenticating the peripheral device to the host device using the non-media channel; and in response to authenticating the peripheral device to the host device, enabling a full operational mode between the host device and the media interface, wherein the full operational mode includes:
configuring the media interface to provide media content to the peripheral device via the media channel and to receive input from the peripheral device via the non-media channel; andtransmitting control signals to the peripheral device via the non-media channel based on input received from the peripheral device via the non-media channel. |
