Rollers and roller heads.-In drawing-mechanism the rear two pairs of rollers 1 - - 4 are weighted by saddle 11 provided with a bearing 15 for the top roller 3 and with two arms 16, 17, of which 16 bears on the top roller 4 and 17 is normally clear of the bottom roller 2 but rests thereon when the roller 1 is withdrawn and so maintains the saddle in approximately the normal position. An angular extension 18 is provided to facilitate the removal and replacement of the roller 1. The saddle 11 may be connected to weighting means, the front rollers being independently weighted, or it may be connected to a front weight saddle 10 by a rod 13 which is fast to the front saddle and loosely engages in a hole 14 in the back saddle to permit of adjustment of the rollers. The front saddle is provided with horns 25, 28 to accommodate a clearing-roller 26 in the operative position, or in a rear position as shown in dotted lines.</p> |
