PURPOSE:To obtain a reagent for improving the reverse transcriptase activity of a thermally stable DNA polymerase. CONSTITUTION:The method for the reverse transcription of the RNA comprises allowing a thermally stable DNA polymerase having a reverse transcriptase activity, such as a primer which is an oligonucleotide complementary to a RNA template, four kinds of deoxyribonucleotide triphosphates and a TthDNA polymerase or a recombined TthDNA polymerase, to act on a specimen containing the RNA in a buffer solution having a chlorine ion concentration of 0-10mM to form a cDNA sequence complementary to the sequence of the RNA template. A nucleic acid can be detected and multiplied by the utilization of this method, and a reagent kit to be used for these methods is provided. |
