1. A method for thermostatically mixing water, comprising:
providing a hot water source, a cold water source, a thermostat movable in opposing first and second directions, a valve body defining a cavity in fluid communication with the hot source and the cold source, a valve member movable between first and second positions within the cavity, and a spring; moving the valve member in the first direction by the thermostat within the cavity in response to increasing temperature of the thermostat; moving the valve member in the second direction by the thermostat within the cavity in response to decreasing temperature of the thermostat; urging the valve member and the thermostat by the spring toward the second position; and preventing the flow of hot water out of the cavity when the valve member is in the second position. |
