A light-emitting device material comprising a compound represented by the following general formula (1):wherein: (i) R1 to R21 are all hydrogen, and among R22 to R26, one of R23 and R25 is NArlAr2 and others are all hydrogen, wherein Ar1 and Ar2 may be the same or different and each represent a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group; or (ii) R1 to R21 may be the same or different and are each selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, a heterocyclic group, an alkenyl group, a cycloalkenyl group, an alkynyl group, a halogen, a carbonyl group, a carboxyl group, an oxycarbonyl group, a carbamoyl group, a silyl group and —P(═O)R27R28, wherein R27 and R28 are each an aryl group or a heteroaryl group, with the proviso that two carbazole skeletons are coupled at one of R6 to R13 and one of R14 to R21; and R22 to R26 satisfy requirement (B): (B) R24 is NArlAr2, others may be the same or different and are each selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, a heterocyclic group, an alkenyl group, a cycloalkenyl group, an alkynyl group, a halogen, a carbonyl group, a carboxyl group, an oxycarbonyl group, a carbamoyl group, a silyl group and —P(═O)R27R28, and one of Ar1 and Ar2 is an unsubstituted phenyl group, and the other is a phenyl group substituted with an alkyl group, a phenyl group substituted with a halogen, or a phenyl group substituted with a phenyl group.
