A display device comprising a plurality of pixels, each of the plurality of pixels including: a light emitting element; a driving transistor; a sampling transistor; a switching transistor; and a capacitor, wherein the sampling transistor is configured to supply a data voltage from a data line to the capacitor, wherein the driving transistor is configured to control a drive current according to the data voltage, wherein the switching transistor is configured to switch an electrical connection between the driving transistor and the light emitting element according to a control signal supplied from a driving section, wherein, when a total light emitting period length is less than a maximum value, the light emitting element is configured to emit N times in each one field period, where N is an integer equal to or higher than 3, and wherein, when a total light emitting period length is a maximum value, the light emitting element is configured to emit only one time in each one field period.
