摘要 An induction displacement unit is disclosed that includes an induction plenum having first nozzles communicating with a first discharge plenum and second nozzles communicating with a second discharge plenum, a return air plenum and a heating coil disposed between the return air plenum and the first discharge plenum. In addition, the induction displacement unit has a cooling coil disposed between the return air plenum and the second discharge plenum, where the induction plenum is vertically disposed between the heating coil and the cooling coil. The heating coil is disposed in an upper portion of the unit. The first discharge plenum is disposed to induce a substantially vertical discharge, and the second discharge plenum disposed to induce a substantially horizontal discharge.

A method of conditioning a space using an induction displacement unit comprising: inducing a single return air flow into a return air plenum of the induction displacement unit by discharging pressurized air within the induction displacement unit; inducing a first portion of the return air flow from the return air plenum through a heating coil using the inductive air flow of the pressurized air; simultaneously inducing a second portion of the return air flow from the return air plenum through a cooling coil; discharging from the induction displacement unit the air flow from the heating coil; and discharging from the induction displacement unit the air flow from the cooling coil.
