1. A method for measuring signal quality for a communication channel used by a photovoltaic (PV) system, the method comprising:
generating a first message; transmitting the first message at a time 1 from a gateway to a first module-level power electronic (MLPE) device within the PV system; generating a second message; transmitting the second message at a time 2 from the gateway to a second MLPE device within the PV system; and listening for a response to the first message,
wherein transmitting the second message at time 2 is started in violation of a communication protocol used by the MLPE and is transmitted during a period of time when a message sender should instead be listening for a response to the first message. |
