A method of constructing a body to optimize a fluid flow over a surface of the body, the method comprising: defining a control volume in which a fluid flow moves over at least a portion of a surface of a body, the control volume having an inlet and an outlet; setting initial conditions in the control volume; determining flow profiles of areas between the inlet and outlet of the control volume; identifying flow elements associated with changes in flow fluid velocity; assigning flow resistors to the flow elements associated with the changes in flow fluid velocity, wherein resistive values of the flow resistors correspond to flow characteristics causing the changes in flow fluid velocity; determining new conditions according to the flow resistors in the control volume for a desired number of subsequent time intervals, including adjusting the flow resistors according to the new conditions of each time interval to reflect changes in the flow fluid velocity; and modifying parameters of the body to adjust vortexes in the fluid flow through the control volume according to the flow resistors.
