1. A method for evaluating a urine sample for the presence of tubular proteinuria based on an indicator calculated from a P value and an A value, the method comprising:
detecting the presence of protein in the urine sample by contacting the sample with a reagent pad comprising a protein detection agent, where the P value reflects the protein in the sample; and detecting the presence of albumin in the urine sample by contacting the sample with a reagent pad comprising an albumin detection reagent, the albumin detection reagent having a higher detection sensitivity to albumin than the protein detection reagent where the A value reflects the albumin in the sample; wherein the indicator comprises the following A/P value or P/A value:
A/P value=[A value]/[P value] or [A/C value]/[P/C value];P/A value=[P value]/[A value] or [P/C value]/[A/C value], where C is a value that reflects creatinine present in the urine sample and is determined by contacting the sample with a creatinine detection reagent, and where C corrects the A value and the P value; comparing the indicator to a threshold value, and determining the presence of tubular proteinuria in the urine sample if the indicator is greater than or equal to the threshold value. |
