1. An electrospray emitter for mass spectrometry and fluorescent spectroscopy comprising:
a conduit having a substantially continuous portion extending along a conduit axis and terminating at an orifice adapted to provide an electrospray ionization for a mass spectrometer; chromatographic packing material positioned within a chromatography portion of the continuous portion; a first filter fitting within the conduit and sized to block the chromatographic packing material; a second filter fitting within the conduit downstream from the first filter and sized to preserve a liquid pressure within the conduit; and a transparent analysis region positioned within the continuous portion between the first filter and the second filter adapted for fluorescent spectroscopy measurement; wherein a volume of a conduit between the orifice and the chromatography portion is less than 1 microliter. |
