A method of treating congenital hyperinsulinism in a subject having congenital hyperinsulinism associated with or due to a loss of function mutation in the KATP channel, the method comprising the step of administering to said subject an effective amount of a peptide, wherein the amino acid sequence of the peptide consists of the amino sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO: 1.
