1. A method of directing a first vehicle (100) to an allocated area (126), the method including:
obtaining (204) data representing a current geographical location of the first vehicle; using (208) the geographical location data to identify at least one destination location (122), each said destination location having a plurality of allocatable areas, each said allocatable area being allocatable for use by a respective vehicle for an allotted time period, the end of which is defined by an end time; checking (208) availability of the allocatable areas at the at least one destination location in order to allocate a first available allocatable area to the first vehicle, and generating data for use in directing (214) the first vehicle to said first area allocated to the first vehicle; detecting if said first vehicle is prevented from using the area allocated thereto due to a second vehicle, utilising said area for an earlier time period, exceeding its end time and, therefore, that said area allocated to said first vehicle is not available for use thereby; and, in response to said detecting, checking availability of other allocatable areas at the at least one destination location, identifying an available second allocatable area to the first vehicle, and generating data for use in directing the first vehicle to said second area allocated thereto. |
