1. A method for forming a blended material for use as a deposition material in a fused-filament-fabrication (FFF) printer, the method comprising:
providing one or more first polyaryletherketones (PAEKs) having an amorphous morphology and one or more second compounds having a semi-crystalline morphology, wherein the weight ratio the first PAEKS to the second compounds is at least 1; forming a mixed material by physically mixing the first PAEKs and the second compounds; forming a blended material by heating the mixed material to a temperature that is the greater of: (a) a glass transition temperature of the first PAEKs, and (b) a melting point of the second compounds; and extruding the blended material through an extruder die for use in the FFF printer. |
