The system (1) has a current/pressure transducer (4) which is coupled with a pneumatic working chamber (3) that is loaded with a pneumatic pressure in order to move the control valve (5). The current/pressure transducer is provided with an electrical input for receiving an electrical control signal. The current/pressure transducer generates two pneumatic control signals with which the working chamber is loaded. The control signals are generated independently of each other. An independent claim is included for method for operating of pneumatic propulsion system for actuation of control valve.
