A security system suitable for a fishing campsite 480 that can be used to protect fishing equipment 460 positioned on the edge of river bank 465. The system comprising a lighting unit 425 with local sensor usually sited in proximity to the equipment being protected, and a plurality of remote sensors 430 and 435 positioned around the campsite, all battery powered and wirelessly linked to a battery powered control unit 420. The sensor in the lighting unit activates an ambient lighting function when nearby movement is sensed, providing user of the system local lighting. If an individual comes into proximity with the remote sensors, then a security lighting function is activated on the lighting unit. The control unit provides status indication if the ambient and/or security lighting functions are active. The control unit may also have a loudspeaker which produces an audible alert if the security lighting is activated, which can either be used to alert the user and/or deter the intruder. The alert can be volume adjustable and may consist of a plurality of different alerts. The lighting unit may consist of a multisided construction with a lighting sensor mounted in each side, and be attached to a support member suitable for insertion into the ground. |
