A swimming garment 2 comprises a form fitting garment to fit over at least the torso of the wearer and incorporating a plurality of pockets or sleeves 4-13. The pockets house one or more floatation elements each comprising an inflatable bladder. The garment also incorporates at least one pump 34 for adjusting the volume of air within the inflatable bladders, thus adjusting the buoyancy of the wearer whilst swimming. Each bladder is provided with a vent opening 38 having a release valve (39, figure 3). |
