March 29, 1930, No. 10085. [Class 40 (iv).] The intermediate distribution frame is replaced by an additional vertical row of terminal blocks mounted on the connection frames adjacent to the ordinary block strip on which the subscribers bank multiple is terminated, the line switches being connected to this additional terminal block strip. To the blocks 16-20 are connected the multiple from the connectors, shown numbered 1-10 in each of the rows A .. E, the multiple from each connector terminating on a single block, whilst permanent wiring extends from the blocks 22 . . 26 to the line-switch groups. Wiring from block 21 leads to operator positions whilst the cables to other bays are connected to block 27. Jumper rings 39 .. 42 are used for jumpers between adjacent bays, jumpering between blocks 16 .. 21 and 22 . . 27 passing through rings 33 .. 38. The wiring from the exchange side of the main frame is connected to blocks 16 .. 20 if the main frame numbering is in exchange order whilst it is connected to blocks 22 .. 26 if the numbering is in line-switch order. This later system is more convenient if many party lines are accommodated and if the various parties are given individual exchange numbers multipling between blocks 22 .. 26 may be provided to prevent more than two jumpers being connected to any one set of terminals.
