1. An image processing apparatus, comprising:
an input unit configured to input image data of respective areas obtained by dividing an area of an original along a sub-scanning direction, which have been read by a plurality of sensor units; a first correction unit configured to perform shading correction for pixel values of the image data for each column in the sub-scanning direction; an insertion unit configured to insert, based on information indicating a gap between the plurality of sensor units, missing pixels to positions corresponding to the gap in the image data; a second correction unit configured to perform, based on placement information of the original, tilt correction of correcting a tilt of the original for the image data to which the missing pixels have been inserted; and a third correction unit configured to correct a pixel value of each of the missing pixels of the image data having undergone the tilt correction, wherein at least one of the first correction unit, the insertion unit, the second correction unit, or the third correction unit is implemented using a processor.
