An apparatus comprises a concentrated mixed liquor driving device which uses a gas for driving the concentrated liquor to flow. The gas can be an oxygen-containing gas, especially an oxygen-containing aeration gas after aeration treatment. Also provided is a method for biological sewage treatment, which comprises a step of using the gas for driving the concentrated mixed liquor to flow. The apparatus uses less energy as it utilises the aeration gas within the liquor elevating tube to drive flow, whereas the aeration gas is generally discharged directly to the atmosphere. |
