An output device 1 is mounted in a vehicle and has a Rankine cycle 2 wherein a pump 20 that rotates and thereby circulates an operating fluid in the circulation flow path 10, an evaporator 30 that evaporates the operating fluid by means of exhaust gas, an expansion device 40 that expands the operating fluid, and a condenser 50 that condenses the operating fluid by means of a cooling source, are arranged in order inside a circulation flow path 10. In addition, the output device is equipped with: a storage unit 70 in which characteristic information indicating the relationship between the temperature and flow rate of the exhaust gas and the rotational frequency of the pump 20 corresponding to the flow rate of the operating fluid passing through the expansion device 40 is stored in advance; a detection unit 60 that detects the temperature and flow rate of the exhaust gas; and a control unit 80 that controls the rotational frequency of the pump 20 corresponding to the detected temperature and flow rate of the exhaust gas, on the basis of the detection result from the detection unit 60 and the characteristic information stored in the storage unit 70. |
