Provided are a charging method and device, said method comprising: performing constant-current charging of a rechargeable battery until the voltage of said rechargeable battery reaches a first preset voltage (S110); charging the rechargeable battery using a gradually reducing charging voltage until charging is complete (S120). Thus charging speed is increased, further improving battery capacity following full charging of the battery.
