A purpose of the present invention is to cause an electronic device such as a smartphone to recognize a code even if the code is successively varied. Another purpose of the present invention is to cause the electronic device to present information when the electronic device can recognize the code, and to cause a code generation device to read the information. In the code generation device, an information reading unit 11 reads predetermined information. A code generation unit 12 generates, as a pattern code, a code that represents the predetermined information using a pattern in which one or more symbols are spatially and/or temporally arranged. Each time the code generation unit 12 generates a pattern code, a code output unit 13 outputs code in accordance with the one or more arranged symbols of the generated pattern code, which each indicate whether or not an output is to be made to activate a sensor, thus outputting a pattern code corresponding to the pattern code generated by the code generation unit 12. Further, when the electronic device can read the output pattern code, the electronic device presents predetermined information in a format that can be recognized by the information reading unit 11, and the information reading unit 11 reads the presented predetermined information. |
