The present invention relates to a system for detection of a physiological parameter of an individual, comprising at least one camera for capturing images of said individual from a remote location, and a processing unit for analyzing said captured images in order to extract data that represent physiological parameters relative to said individual, wherein said processing unit is adapted for analyzing photoplethysmogram (PPG) signals that reflects changes in volume within an organ or whole body of said individual that result from fluctuations in the amount of blood or air it contains.
