The present invention relates to a porous metal structure manufacturing method and a porous metal structure manufactured thereby and, more particularly, to a porous metal structure manufacturing method comprising the steps of: (a) manufacturing an alloy structure comprising a first metal and a second metal; (b) melting Na, thereby manufacturing liquid Na; and (c) immersing the alloy structure in the liquid Na and then heating the same such that the second metal is selectively dissolved in the liquid Na, thereby manufacturing a porous metal structure comprising the first metal, wherein the alloy structure has a matrix formed by the first metal such that the second metal exists in the first metal matrix, and has a dual-phase structure formed by the first and second metals.
