[Abstract] Through the present invention, disclosed is a method for decoding a video, comprising the following steps: parsing an MPM flag of a block while symbols of the video, which is coded from a bitstream that is received, are subject to parsing; deciding whether a plurality of candidate intra prediction modes, which are of a fixed number, are used, for predicting the intra prediction mode of the block based on the MPM flag; deciding the plurality of the candidate intra prediction modes based on the intra prediction modes of a left block and an upper block that neighbor the block, while the intra prediction mode of the block is recovered by using symbols that are parsed after the parsing of the symbols of the blocks is completed, when the decision is made to use the plurality of the candidate intra prediction modes based on the MPM flag; and predictive coding the intra prediction mode of the block using the plurality of intra prediction modes which are of the fixed number. |
