The present invention relates to a seal for reducing the speed of projectiles fired by a high-powered firearms, designed to be incorporated inside a projectile recovery chamber of the type used in forensic ballistics laboratories in which experts or specialists perform studies to identify firearms and tool marks, also known as ballistic mechanical fingerprinting, which each firearm imprints particularly on the cartridge shells and projectiles fired by same. The reducer seal comprises a receptacle that is provided with a removable or hatch-type lid and contains a cartridge made from a material that reduces the speed of projectiles, the cartridge being inserted into the chamber such that the cartridge is positioned in the line of fire of the high-powered firearm in order to substantially reduce the speed of the projectile before it impacts the speed reducing means of the chamber.
