An ink jet printing apparatus is provided with: a pressurized air space and a depressurized air space for circulating ink along a circulation path; a main connection path and an adjustment path for connecting the pressurized air space and the depressurized air space to each other; an air pump for supplying air from the depressurized air space to the pressurized air space via the main connection path or the adjustment path; a changeover device for switching between the main connection path and the adjustment path; and a controller. The controller generates respective preset pressures in the pressurized air space and the depressurized air space with the air pump in a state in which the main connection path is set, and thereafter controls the air pump in a state in which the main connection path is switched to the adjustment path to maintain the pressures of the pressurized air space and the depressurized air space at the respective preset pressures. |
