The invention relates to an electrode (2) for an electrolysis process, consisting of a non-metallic electrode substrate (4), a structure layer (8) grown on the electrode substrate (4) having a chemical composition that is variable in the direction of the layer growth and a coating comprising crystalline diamond (14) grown on the structure layer (8). The invention further relates to methods for producing the electrode (2) according to the invention for an electrolysis process. The structure layer (8) consists of a layer bordering the electrode substrate and made of silicon carbide in a stoichiometric composition (10), on which a non-stoichiometric, silicon-rich, silicon carbide layer (11) is applied. On the boundary surface to the coating with the crystalline diamond (14), the non-stoichiometric, silicon-rich, silicon carbide layer (11) comprises silicon outgrowths in the form of silicon particles (13), in order to ensure a reliable and durable diamond coating (14). |
