Disclosed is a catalyst capable of catalytically removing environmental pollutants at low temperature and a preparation method thereof. Said catalyst is a compound with a chemical formula zAg/Co 1-xM xO y and comprised of four elements, that is, Ag, Co, M and O, wherein M=any one of La, Ce or Pr, and 0.02≤x≤0.5, 1.33≤y≤2, 0.05≤z≤0.3, M:Co atomic ratio is x:(1-x), and Ag:(Co+M) atomic ratio is z:1. The obtained catalyst can remove catalytically common environmental pollutants such as carbon monoxide and particulate matters at low temperature, and improve, by adjusting the values of x and z, the temperature window of ammonia selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxide during the control of a diesel engine discharging pollution . |
