METHOD FOR PREPARING CATIONIC ELECTRODEPOSITION COATING MATERIAL COMPOSITION

The objective of the present invention is to provide a method for preparing a cationic electrodeposition coating material composition which contains a bismuth compound and has excellent coating material stability, curability, coating film appearance and the like. The present invention relates to a method for preparing a cationic electrodeposition coating material composition, which comprises a step for mixing a resin emulsion (i) and a pigment dispersed paste (ii). The resin emulsion (i) contains an aminated resin (A) and a blocked isocyanate curing agent (B). The pigment dispersed paste (ii) contains: a bismuth mixture liquid (C) containing a bismuth compound (c1), an organic acid (c2) and a solvent; a pigment dispersed resin (D); a polyvalent acid (E); and a pigment (F). This method for preparing a cationic electrodeposition coating material composition comprises: a bismuth mixture liquid (C) preparation step wherein the bismuth mixture liquid (C) is prepared by mixing the bismuth compound (c1), the organic acid (c2) and the solvent; and a pigment dispersed paste (ii) preparation step wherein a bismuth dispersion liquid is prepared by mixing the thus-obtained bismuth mixture liquid (C), the pigment dispersed resin (D) and the polyvalent acid (E), and subsequently the pigment dispersed paste (ii) is prepared by mixing the thus-obtained bismuth dispersion liquid and the pigment (F).
