Provided are a wireless communication device and wireless communication method that are capable of preventing a delay in data transmission in a PDCP layer while avoiding an increase in processing performance, even when the size of a PDCP status report is increased. A UE 100 generates a PDCP status report indicating a reception status of a PDCP PDU, and transmits the generated PDCP status report to an eNB 200. If the size of the PDCP PDU including the PDCP status report exceeds a predetermined threshold value, the UE 100 deletes the excess portion of the PDCP status report that exceeds the predetermined threshold value, and transmits to the eNB 200 the PDCP PDU including the PDCP status report from which the excess portion has been deleted.
