A drive belt (3) for a continuously variable transmission with transverse members (1; 1-a, 1-b), comprising a base part (10) and two pillar parts (11; 1-l, 11-r), each provided on a respective axial side of the base part (10), which transverse members (1) are mounted slideably on an endless carrier (8). The drive belt (3) includes two types of transverse members (1-a, -b), whereof each type is provided with only one hook 10 part (13-a; 13-b) or with one larger hook part (13-a; 3-b) that extends in axial direction over the endless carrier (8). Between the two respective types of transverse members (1-a, 1-b) the said one or the said larger one hook part (13-a; 13-b) is respectively 1 associated with an opposite one of the two pillar parts (11-l, 11-r). |
