[Class 104 (ii)] [Also in Groups XXV and X] Girders 1, 2 are clamped together by an assembly comprising a plate 4 placed between the girders and carrying knob bolts as described in Specification 411,400, [Group XXV]. The jaws of the top and bottom hook members 5 mounted on the bolts engage with the flanges of the girders and clamp the same together when the nuts 7 are tightened. The fitting can be adapted to meet the cases when the girders cross at an angle, or run in the same straight line and can be employed to clamp more than two girders together. In a modification, where angle or channel-bars are to be clamped, the bolts are provided with hooked ends 12 in place of one of the hook members on the bolts.
